Glossary of terms started

A number of you have enquired if it would be possible for me to include a glossary of terms for some of the “technical” mountaineering terms as well as some of the less familiar geological, Scottish and Gaelic words. I’ve begun this process and you will now see a few terms with hyperlinks in each of the blog postings. I’ll try to add more terms as I go along, however, if you come across a word or phrase that may be unfamiliar to you and you think would warrant explanation via the glossary then please post me a comment and I’ll update accordingly.

About Cameron Speirs

Born and brought up in the Scottish Highlands, Cameron, has been interested in outdoor pursuits since he was a wee lad. Over the last few decades he has climbed extensively in the Italian Dolomites as well as summiting the Matterhorn and several other 4000m alpine peaks. Closer to home he has spent many wonderful weekends mountaineering and biking in Snowdonia, Cairngorms, Glen Coe, Skye and Lochaber.
