A café with a view

The Aroma Cafe - Aultbea in the Scottish Highlands

After our walk up Am Faochagach we were both elated to have now reached the last 10 Munros to complete. As a treat we headed to the lovely Aroma Café located at Mellon Charles approximately 9 miles from Inverewe Gardens. From the café the views across Loch Ewe are simply stunning. You can imagine there being some spectacular sunsets. The building is very well presented and is beautifully decorated inside.

Adjacent to the café is a purpose-built Perfume Studio where an original range of perfumes, fragrances, crèmes, soaps and toiletries are made on site. This is the only “working” perfume shop in Scotland. There are other “gift” type things in the shop and the layout has been carefully considered.

As you walk through the Perfume Studio you then come to the Image Studio, which exhibits many marvellous photographs. Courses and workshops are held here for people wishing to enhance their photographic skills.

It has a very friendly and informal atmosphere and we certainly enjoyed our visit there and look forward to returning to this gem sometime soon.
